International Trade Centre is an exciting new addition to Richmond’s business community as the downtown continues to expand North. The new development will be the epicentre of business, ideally located with proximity to Vancouver’s Airport and Downtown core.

After initially being specified as a traditional sand and cement install in 2014, the design teams at Scott Construction and Considered Design decided to upgrade to our ROMEX System Guarantee (RSG) product due to the project cost savings, shortened project timelines and crucial stormwater management benefits.

The high traffic zone utilised our highly durable and permeable setting method for the granite paving, with great emphasis on reduced cost of future maintenance whilst also meeting the requirements of the City of Richmond’s Engineering department.

PRODUCT SELECTION

Long term durability and installation speed leading to cost and timeline savings were key drivers for selecting our Romex System Guarantee paving system. and comprises of our permeable Trass-Bed bedding, Adhesion Elutriant and 2 component jointing material. The system comes backed by our 10-year manufacturer’s warranty and will allow building users to enjoy a safe and durable paved surface for years to come.

PROJECT SOLUTION

The multiple benefits of our RSG product over the traditional mud slab and cement install were key drivers in the design team’s decision to switch the specification to the ROMEX RSG system. Permeability is always a top priority in high water catchment areas such as BC and thus having a system that allowed water to pass through and not be trapped proved to be extremely beneficial to the project stakeholders. Above all, the deciding factor was our ability to offer significant timeline and cost savings to the construction team whilst also being able to offer peace of mind with our market leading 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
